Education
Kirkham Board have successfully undertaken a number of projects for primary schools, high schools, and specialist schools.
Kirkham Board has provided a single point of contact for a diverse range of both new-build and refurbishment projects across the education sector.
The success of these projects in terms of function, aesthetics and budget has led to repeat appointments.
Churston Ferrers Grammar School
Kirkham Board acted as Project Managers and CDM Coordinators in the procurement of a new £1m sixth form building at Churston Ferrers Grammar School.
A design team was formed to procure the new facility which provides classrooms, an IT suite, and a large common room. As Project Managers, Kirkham Boards' role to lead the team and be the interface between the Client, Design Team, and Main Contractor.
The project was finished on-time and on-budget to the highest standards, and includes a full natural ventilation system to ensure that the building is as environmentally friendly as possible.
Kirkham Board were appointed as Project Managers, Architects and Quantity Surveyors to carry out the two storey extension to the Art and Music complex, with a total gross internal floor area of 295m². The works also encompassed refurbishment of the existing Art and Music rooms.
The scheme commenced in the summer holidays, so the initial ground works could take place whilst the school was closed. However, all of the above ground works all took place during term time. Careful coordination was therefore required to ensure that the school was able to operate and function without disruption.
The project was finished on-time and on-budget with the works ensuring that the School now have first class Art and Music facilities.
