Project Management

Kirkham Board provide a wide range of Project Management services for our Clients, and understand the importance of becoming involved early in projects in order to impart value; ensuring that projects are designed, tendered, and completed on time and within budget.

We are able to effectively assist in defining the Clients brief, manage and coordinate other members of the design team, and retain control of the project on the Clients behalf so that the scheme is delivered to the highest possible standard.

Kirkham Board specialise in Healthcare and Fire remediation projects which are often, by their nature, complicated given the fact that the various, homes, flats, wards and departments often need to remain fully functional and operational during the course of the works.

Kirkham Board have also undertaken numerous commercial projects where the CAT A works have been 'enhanced' to take into account the CAT B works at a later stage; avoiding abortive and disruptive works at a later stage, adding value to the process as a whole.

We are fully equipped with the latest software, including Microsoft Project, which allows us to communicate effectively and respond quickly to the project needs.

Healthcare

Nightingale Hospital CDC

We acted as Clerk of Works in the successful refurbishment of Buttercup Ward at Nightingale Hospital. The existing ward was transformed into a Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) for the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The project value was £1.7M and created eight consulting rooms, a procedure room, an echo room and a respiratory room as well as other ancillary areas.

E2 & D2, Royal Devon and Exeter

We acted as Design Managers in the complete refurbishment of these two templates for the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

E2 was primarily used as offices and secretarial spaces. This has now been converted into a new location for Clinical Measurements and Pulmonary Function. The relocation of this department freed up space to extend the Cariology Department (D2) in to the rear of the template where new trolley and seated recovery bays have been formed as well as various patient changing areas, consulting rooms, a Clean Utility, Dirty Utility and the like.

Wharf House, Stroud

We managed the project from conception through to design and eventually completion Work included the removal of the existing failed gabion retaining wall and replacement with a better arranged design that provided the residents with a larger car parking area.

The project was not without its challenges with additional extensive ground work and asbestos removal required, however continued communication between KBA, the contractors and the client were key for this one!
